Agenda for Earthquake Relief
Taaleem for All Trust realized its responsibility towards fellow citizens in the turbulent times. We decided to pool in our resources and helped the affected people. To this end, an Earthquake Relief Council was formed by the Trust. The council is headed by Mr. Jawad Ahmad and adopted the following agenda for short term and long term relief activities:

Welfare of Children
Issues
- Identifying areas for building of schools
- Building new schools for the children
- Providing books and stationery material to the children
- Brain Pool (through Talent Bank of Pakistan)
Activities
- Ascertained the number of hospitalized children in the selected areas
- Gifts were presented to those children with respect to their age groups
- Some of the gifts included:
- Stuffed Toys & other
- Picture Books
- Story Books
- Chocolates and Sweets
- Coloring books
- Color pencils etc.
- Regular visits to hospitals and camps for spending quality time with children
- Formation of a database of the affected children
- Supported the government in rehabilitation of the affected children
- Coordinated and joined the rehabilitation activities of NGOs and other private sector organizations
- Establishment of non-formal schools for the affected children
- Ensured smooth running of those non-formal schools until formal schools were established
- Assisted and persuaded government in formulating “Adoption Plan” of affected children

Provision of Shelter for the Homeless
Issues

Activities
- Identifying of villages for shelter provision
- Installed fiberglass cabins for the homeless people of the earthquake affected areas
- Features of this cabin are:
- Width: 8 feet * Length: 12 feet * height: 8.6 feet
- Weather resistant
- Fire resistant
- Earthquake proof
- Provides shelter to a family of 6-8 people
- Ventilation
- Hinged door & window
- Durable for long periods of time
- Extendable and easy to move
- On spot assembly
- Assembly time: 1.30 hrs
- Labor cost is very low
- Will be reused for future housing
- Almost 300 Fiberglass houses have been installed by now
- Assisted in survey and planning for future rehabilitation
